Thermocouple is an electric powered tool comprising of two dissimilar conductors forming electric junctions at differing temps. A thermocouple creates a temperature-dependent voltage therefore of the thermoelectric effect, and this voltage can be interpreted to measure heat.
Thermocouples are a traditionally used type of temperature sensor. Commercial thermocouples are affordable, exchangeable, are provided with standard connectors, and can quantify a variety of temperature ranges. Contrary to most other methods of temperature estimation, thermocouples are self powered and require no external form of excitation.
